We provide comprehensive speech, occupational, and physical therapy services using the most advanced methodology available. Utilizing a team approach, we are committed to helping our clients and families to improve their quality of life and achieve their goals.

Occupational Therapy

A child's occupation is to play, learn, and grow.  As Occupational therapists (OTs) specializing in pediatrics, we help children acquire the skills they need to perform the "occupations" of daily life to succeed in their homes, school environments, and communities.  We work with children with a wide range of conditions including neurological, orthopedic, and muscular disorders.  Occupational therapists help to improve muscle tone and strength, sensory processing, fine motor skills, visual motor skills, cognitive skills, self-care, feeding skills, attention span, handwriting, and motor coordination.  Our OT team makes therapy fun and inviting for the children.

Speech Therapy

Everyone wants to be heard and our Speech Pathologists and Speech Pathology Assistants work diligently to make this happen! We use strategies for each child’s particular challenge in order for them to feel more confident about communicating with others. Speech therapy is a process that requires months or even years for newly acquired skills to carryover into everyday life. Family members are a vital part of the therapeutic process. Speech therapy has proven to be beneficial for children emotionally, socially, and academically. Success is more likely to occur when treatment begins early in life and skills are practiced at home.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy addresses movement and mobility of the body. We work to prevent, improve, or manage a condition for short and long-term health benefits for our patients. PTs examine each patient and develop an individualized plan, using treatment techniques to promote movement, balance, and coordination, reduce pain, restore or gain function, and prevent or decrease the disability.

School Based Services

For 20+ years our therapists have provided school-based therapy at over a dozen school districts. Our team takes great pride in providing quality services within the educational setting.  If you are an administrator and would like to know more about how TTC can partner with you, please feel free to give us a call.  We would be happy to speak with you and provide references.

If you are a parent, your child may be eligible for services at our clinic.  The guidelines for school-based services and clinic-based therapy services are different.  Many parents do not realize that their children can receive therapy services outside of the school.   Please feel free to give us a call to find out more and take advantage of our summer programs! Enrollment is limited and spaces are filling fast!

Telehealth or telemedicine, is a service delivery approach using telecommunication. With Telehealth, our occupational, physical, and speech therapists are able to conduct therapy sessions through a virtual online platform. Your child meets with your therapist, to recieve therapy treatment. Telehealth allows our therapist to provide more interactive parent training, greater accessibility of service to families, and generalization of learned skills at home.

Feeding therapy

Feeding difficulties are common in many children. At Texarkana Therapy Center our occupational therapists and speech-language pathologist have joined together to create a specialized feeding therapy program. Feeding therapy focuses on a number of factors that may prevent your child from being able to receive proper nutrition. Our therapists focus on helping children to increase independence in feeding skills, promote tolerance to different types of food, reduce hypersensitivity, and improve oral motor control.

Texarkana Therapy Center offers a comprehensive program for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Our clinically trained ADHD specialist help children become more independent in daily occupations and routines. In our ADHD program your child will recieve a comprehensive evaulation and individualized treatment plans specific to their needs. Our therapists use a variety of techniques inlcuding neurocognitive training and neurofeedback.

Texarkana Therapy Center offers aquatics for children with physical mobility needs. Our physical therapists conduct a comprehensive evaluation to determine if aquatics is the best avenue of treatment. We are currently under construction but are happy to answer any questions for future appointments.  We look forward to providing more information this summer!
